Today Caitlin and I took Spirit and Poncho to the outside arena to work with them. Caitlin was planning on riding, but I just wanted to focus on doing the ground games with Poncho and rewarding him. It actually went pretty well. He's much better at walking for me without putting his ears back, but he still gets really mad about trotting.
Working with Poncho is a really big change for me. I miss Jack, with his funny personality, and his love of life. I really need to get used to Poncho though, otherwise I'm afraid we're never going to make the progress that we need to. If I'm not happy when I'm working with him, how can I expect him to be happy about it?
